One Church, One Story: Why GCs Stay in Sync
Ever wonder how a bunch of small groups manage to stay on the same page?
At Redeemer, Gospel Communities (GCs) aren’t left to wander wherever the wind blows. Each week, Pastor Cody prayerfully selects Scripture passages that directly connect to Sunday’s sermon, helping our entire church family walk through the whole counsel of God together (Acts 20:27). It’s like a clear thread stretching from Sunday’s preaching to your living room, keeping everyone united around the same truths about Jesus.
Why is this important? Because the Bible isn’t a disconnected set of stories—it’s one cohesive narrative about Jesus. From Old Testament promises to New Testament fulfillments, every verse points us back to Him. When our GCs gather around these shared passages, we magnify Jesus together, seeing clearly how His grace, love, and lordship are woven throughout Scripture. It helps us avoid getting lost in side-issues or personal tangents. Instead, we stay centered on what matters most: making much of Christ.
This unity also strengthens our mission. As we walk in step with each other, we’re better equipped to take the good news of Jesus into our neighborhoods, workplaces, and friendships across Wichita Falls. Because we share the same story, we’re able to confidently share the same hope.
Acts 20:27 says:
"I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God."
This isn’t just a verse; it’s our heartbeat as a church family. In GCs, we embrace this rhythm—learning, growing, and applying God’s Word as one unified body. And when we do, Jesus is glorified, our faith is deepened, and our community is transformed.
Takeaway:
Thank your GC leader this week for guiding your group in alignment with our church’s vision—and make sure you’re engaging deeply with the conversation. Your voice matters. Jesus holds us together. His story shapes us into one unified family, equipped and eager to bring His love and truth to our city. Let’s live it together.
