Lifting High His Name: Jesus Meets Us Here

Worship Wednesday #1

Have you ever walked into a Sunday service and sensed you were encountering more than just music or preaching? At Redeemer, we’re convinced that worship starts with Jesus’ living presence. We center everything on Jesus— He is alive and with us, ready to meet us each time we gather.

In John 14:16–17, Jesus promises the Holy Spirit will be with and in His followers. That promise drives us to draw near as a family, trusting that He meets us right where we are. But how does this come to life on a typical Sunday at Redeemer? We’re shaped by God’s Word—every service, every sermon, and every song selection is filtered through Scripture, reflecting our commitment to stay rooted in truth. Add our dedicated staff who handle logistics and our deacons who serve with caring leadership, and you have the framework that helps us focus on Christ above all.

Why do we gather this way? Because our heartbeat is to make much of Jesus—what our “Who We Are” statement calls being a Gospel-Centered, Disciple-Making Family. When we sing or pray or open the Word together, we’re not just ticking a religious box; we’re responding to the risen Savior, believing He’s truly among us. We trust His presence to heal hurts, ignite faith, and foster genuine relationships that build up the body of Christ. We lift His name—Jesus meets us as our family’s King.

Take a moment to consider your own mindset when you step into worship. Are you simply going through the motions, or are you genuinely expecting to encounter Jesus? Sometimes, just reminding ourselves that “He is alive and with us” can shift our hearts from casual attendance to active awe.

Call to Action:
This week, prepare for worship by praying, “Lord, open my eyes to see You at work.” Come ready to lift His name with a full heart—knowing He’s eagerly waiting to meet you.

Final Encouragement:
At Redeemer, Sundays aren’t about performance; they’re about meeting Jesus as a family under His gracious rule. As you arrive, remember He’s already there, inviting you into a deeper knowledge of His love and power. Let’s gather with hope and expectancy, lifting high His name and rejoicing that He meets us—our family’s King—in every moment of worship.
