Inside Our Covenant Partnership Class: What to Expect

Membership Monday #6

Thinking about coming to our membership class—but unsure if it’s really worth a chunk of your Saturday? Let’s pull back the curtain on what happens during Redeemer’s Covenant Partnership Class. Contrary to any preconceived notions of a stuffy, sit-and-listen lecture, we strive to make it a dynamic, interactive session that gives you a true glimpse into who we are and how we do church together.

First off, we cover the core essentials: our mission, beliefs, and overall structure. Think of it as a guided tour of Redeemer’s heartbeat—why we exist, the biblical convictions that form our foundation, and the framework that keeps us on track. We want you to walk away knowing exactly what drives our passion for being a Gospel-Centered, Disciple-Making Family. Then we shift to the practical side of discipleship: exploring how Gospel Communities function, how our Deacons and leadership team serve, and why we place such a big emphasis on Sunday worship. Expect to see the synergy between these elements and how they all tie into our overarching vision.

Beyond that, we dive into our theological distinctives—not to overwhelm you, but to clarify how we interpret Scripture on key topics. We also share our approach to church discipline, which, when done biblically, fosters both holiness and restoration within our congregation. And, of course, we talk about the everyday joys of belonging and serving: from greeting newcomers on Sunday morning to volunteering in children’s ministry or helping with set-up teams. Through it all, we keep it interactive. That means Q&A times, short group discussions, and even real-life stories from current Covenant Partners who’ve walked this path before you.

Think of this class like a “family meeting” before you officially join the family. If you’re the type of person who wants to be fully informed—who values clarity before making a commitment—this class is perfect for you. You’ll see the open door to ask questions about anything: our budget, our leadership, our beliefs, and our plan for reaching our community with the gospel.

Ready to jump in? Check our website calendar or listen for Sunday announcements to sign up for the next class. We typically schedule them a few times a year, often with childcare options to make it convenient for families.

The more you understand Redeemer’s heart, the more confident you’ll be in your decision. Next Monday, we’ll go behind the scenes of the Staff Q&A step—where we get the chance to hear your story and how God might be calling you to serve. We’d love to connect further and help you discern if Redeemer is truly your church home!
