Holy Rest: Jesus Is Enough

Sabbath Saturday #15

What if you could stop running? What if all your striving, chasing, and worrying finally ceased—and you found out that everything you were looking for was already yours, in Jesus?

Hebrews 12:2 calls us to this liberating truth:

“Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith…”

Over the past 14 weeks, we've explored how Jesus Himself is our rest—not a mere break from work or a momentary pause, but a lasting, holy rest. We've seen Him as the one who calls us, invites us, finishes our striving, and frees us from every burden. Today, we arrive at the culmination: Jesus is enough. Not "Jesus plus" our effort. Just Jesus.

At Redeemer, we deeply believe that this truth changes everything. Jesus doesn't simply give us rest; He is our rest. His finished work means we can lay down our anxieties, our efforts to earn approval, and our fears of not measuring up. Resting in Him is not passive—it’s powerful. It’s worshipful. It readies our hearts for a life of praise and purpose, beginning with tomorrow’s gathering.

So today, on this Sabbath Saturday, trust Him as your holy place of rest. Don’t just pause your striving—stop it completely. Let your heart fully believe that Jesus is truly enough. Enough for your worries. Enough for your future. Enough for your peace.

Take this restful trust with you into worship tomorrow. Bring the assurance that your heart has finally found its home in Him. And as you gather with the family at Redeemer, celebrate boldly. Jesus is everything we need—He always has been, and He always will be.
