Week 52: Thursday Discipleship

  • Psalm 2:10-12

    Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
        be warned, O rulers of the earth.
    Serve the Lord with fear,
        and rejoice with trembling.
    Kiss the Son,
        lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
        for his wrath is quickly kindled.
    Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

  • Philippians 2:9-11

    Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  • Question: What does Psalm 2 teach about Christ’s reign?

    Answer: That through His crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension, Jesus now reigns over all nations and calls every ruler and people to serve Him with glad obedience.

  • Psalm 2:8

    “Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.”

    Family idea: Pray together for one specific nation each night, asking Jesus to bring people there to trust and follow Him.
