Week 4: Thursday Discipleship

  • Romans 10:9-13

    because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

  • Joel 2:28-32

    “And it shall come to pass afterward,
        that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;
    your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
        your old men shall dream dreams,
        and your young men shall see visions.
    Even on the male and female servants
        in those days I will pour out my Spirit.

    “And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the Lord has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the Lord calls.

  • Question: What marks true worship in the city of God?

    Answer: Coming to God by faith on His terms in Christ, giving Him our first and best, loving our brother, and calling on His Name—trusting grace, not our works.

  • Romans 10:13
    “For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”

    Family Idea: At a mealtime, have each person pray aloud, “Lord Jesus, I call on Your Name,” then name one area where you need His help today.
