Week 1: Saturday Discipleship

  • Isaiah 45:18-19

    For thus says the Lord,
    who created the heavens
        (he is God!),
    who formed the earth and made it
        (he established it;
    he did not create it empty,
        he formed it to be inhabited!):
    “I am the Lord, and there is no other.
    I did not speak in secret,
        in a land of darkness;
    I did not say to the offspring of Jacob,
        ‘Seek me in vain.’
    I the Lord speak the truth;
        I declare what is right.

  • Hebrews 11:1-3

    Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

  • Question: What does Genesis 1:1–8 teach about creation?

    Answer: That by His Word, God created the heavens, the earth, light, and the sky, showing His wisdom, power, and goodness.

  • Genesis 1:1 (ESV) "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."

    Family idea: Each night this week, name one part of creation (sky, water, stars, trees, animals) and thank God together for making it.
