Redeemer Kids Ministry

Redeemer Family,

Every Sunday since my sabbatical, there’s a moment that stops me in my tracks:
our kids singing their hearts out, asking honest questions about God, and praying with faith that challenges my own.

It reminds me—we’re not just running classrooms.

We’re raising Kingdom kids.

Redeemer Kids is one of the most vital ministries we have. And as we prepare for a new semester, I want to say three things to every Covenant Partner:
Thank you. Let's prepare well. And let’s communicate clearly.

Why Communication Matters So Much

I know Planning Center requests can feel routine. But behind every notification is a deeper invitation:
Help us make the Lord’s Day a beautiful and welcoming place for both Covenant Partners and guests.

This ministry doesn’t run on autopilot—it runs on faithfulness, clarity, and care.

We don’t have the luxury of a large staff. I would love to knock on each of your doors and personally thank you or ask for help face to face. But until then, Planning Center is our best tool for real-time, family-level coordination. Please don’t see it as noise—it’s how we keep the body working together in love.

How Scheduling Works (and Why It’s Biblical)

Our scheduling principle is simple—and shaped by Scripture:

“The members of the body…should have the same care for one another.” —1 Corinthians 12:25

We always try to schedule those who haven’t served recently so that no one gets overwhelmed or overlooked.
When you say yes to a date, that resets your place in the rotation. It’s how we keep things fair and faithful.

On Regular Sundays we need 5 volunteers
On Family Worship Sundays 3 volunteers

Only Covenant Partners serve in Redeemer Kids—because we’re not just watching children.
We’re discipling them.

When You Get a Scheduling Request

1. Pray, then respond.
If you can serve joyfully—accept right away.

2. Need to decline?
Find a Covenant Partner to sub for you. Don’t just skip this round. Subbing means you’re still in—just trading one day of service for another.
Jennifer, my pastoral assistant, is here to help facilitate swaps. Just communicate clearly and promptly.

3. Stay ready.
Download the Planning Center Services app.
Keep your availability up to date.

When we all do our part, parents can come to worship without worry.
That’s not just a logistical win—that’s a spiritual gift.

This Is About More Than Schedules

Every time you kneel beside a toddler, calm a crying baby, or tell a Bible story, you’re doing something eternal:

  • Modeling faith for the youngest saints

  • Freeing parents to worship and hear the Word

  • Strengthening marriages as spouses serve together

  • Building trust in a church that really feels like family

Redeemer is a family of families. And like any family, we thrive on trust, clarity, and mutual care.

Thank you for helping us prepare well.
Thank you for responding with clarity.
And most of all, thank you for making much of Jesus in the way you love and serve His little ones.

With gratitude,
Cody McMurray
