Lifting Him Forever: Our Family’s Call
Worship Wednesday #12
Have you ever paused to ask, “Why do we really gather?” Over the past eleven weeks, we’ve explored different facets of worship—from singing boldly to living it out daily. Now we bring it all together with one central truth: we worship for eternity’s sake. This isn’t just about a Sunday routine; it’s about a forever calling to exalt Jesus and be transformed in His presence.
At Redeemer, our Mission Statement reminds us that we exist to be a Gospel-Centered, Disciple-Making Family. We don’t merely show up to “feel good” or “check a box”; we gather to encounter Jesus, allow Him to shape us, and then go as His family into the world. Think of Psalm 95:6: “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!” That invitation isn’t just for one generation or moment—its echo stretches into eternity. Our approach to “Eschatology” underscores that we lift His name now in anticipation of His ongoing reign—today and forever.
When we come together on Sundays, we’re aligning ourselves with heaven’s perspective. We remember that Jesus is King, not just of our personal lives but of a kingdom expanding across the globe. Our elders guide us spiritually, staff supports the logistics, deacons nurture a caring environment, and Covenant Partners fully engage in worship and disciple-making. It’s a beautiful synergy, each part serving so that we can exalt Christ together. And that worship doesn’t end when we leave the building. It propels us into the week, eager to reflect Jesus in our homes, workplaces, and communities.
So how do we apply this “forever call”? First, embrace the reality that worship isn’t limited by time or place. We’ll worship Christ into eternity, so let’s engage wholeheartedly now—whether in corporate praise, daily prayer, or acts of service. Second, realize that your participation matters. Every voice, every heart bowed, every gift offered—each contributes to a bigger story of God magnifying His Son. Finally, invite others. Jesus’ mission was never intended for a select few; He calls us to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19–20).
Call to Action:
As you reflect on these past twelve weeks, ask the Holy Spirit to deepen your commitment. Maybe it’s volunteering in a ministry, inviting a friend to worship, or simply re-entering Sunday gatherings with fresh expectation. Worship is our lifelong response to God’s majesty.
Final Encouragement:
Here at Redeemer, we’re not done exploring worship—we’re living it. Week by week, year by year, we’ll keep lifting Jesus’ name, confident He reigns “yesterday, today, and forever.” Together, let’s worship in a way that echoes into eternity. He’s worthy of nothing less.
