Growing His Kingdom Now

Worship Wednesday #11

Have you ever thought about how our worship on Sunday fuels Kingdom growth throughout the week? At Redeemer, we believe that when we “reflect His love to the world,” our worship isn’t just an internal experience—it’s a public declaration that Jesus is reigning now. We embrace a hopeful view of God’s Kingdom, trusting that “the Gospel will increasingly triumph” as we lift His name and disciple the nations (see “Eschatology: Gospel will increasingly triumph”).

This optimistic stance is rooted in Jesus’ Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19–20). Notice that He doesn’t say, “Try your best until everything falls apart.” Instead, He gives us the authority to go and teach, promising to be with us always. At Redeemer, we take that promise to heart, seeing our corporate worship as a weekly “launchpad” that empowers us to live on mission. When we gather, we’re exalting Jesus—reminding each other of His victory over sin and death, and declaring that His Kingdom is advancing.

You might wonder, How does singing together or sharing communion lead to Kingdom growth? It anchors our faith in Christ’s reign. By celebrating His lordship and proclaiming His truth, we bolster one another’s confidence that He is at work—not just in our own hearts, but in our city and far beyond. We leave Sunday gatherings stirred to engage our neighbors, share the hope of the gospel, and serve in ways that reveal Jesus’ transforming love. It’s a practical outworking of being a Gospel-Centered, Disciple-Making Family—when we worship, we don’t just focus on ourselves; we’re fueling a mission that touches lives across every sphere of influence.

Key Line: “When we lift His name—His Kingdom grows through us.

So the next time you’re singing a hymn or hearing the Word preached, remember that your participation in worship goes beyond those sanctuary walls. Each act of praise, each confession of faith, each moment of heart-felt adoration expands the ripple effect of God’s Kingdom. The Holy Spirit uses our collective exultation of Christ to shape us into bolder witnesses, carrying His power into every corner of our week.

Call to Action:
Ask God to show you one way you can extend the gospel this week. Maybe it’s inviting a coworker to Redeemer, offering prayer for a struggling neighbor, or simply sharing a testimony of God’s goodness. When our worship propels us to do these things, the Kingdom grows—and we fulfill what Christ commissioned us to do.

Final Encouragement:
Worship isn’t just about us; it’s about Him and His unfolding reign over the earth. Let’s keep gathering, singing, and serving in confidence that Jesus uses our praise to advance His Kingdom, one heart, one neighborhood, and one nation at a time.
