All of Life for Him: Worship Transforms Us
Worship Wednesday #2
Ever hear the word “worship” and think it’s only for Sunday mornings—songs, prayers, and a sermon? At Redeemer, we take a broader view. Our Theological Vision reminds us we desire “ALL of Christ for ALL of life,” which means worship isn’t confined to an hour on Sunday. It’s a full-body, full-life response to the God who saves and sustains us.
In Romans 12:1, Paul says, “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” Notice the breadth here: not just our voices, but our entire being—body, soul, and heart. When we talk about “full-body worship,” we’re highlighting the fact that every part of us belongs to Jesus. It’s about offering our work, our relationships, our leisure, our struggles—everything—to be shaped into His likeness. This echoes our commitment to Deep Discipleship, where we constantly remind each other that we are transformed by beholding Christ, not just by attending a weekly service.
Yes, gathering on Sunday is crucial. We come together to sing, pray, and hear the Word. But that moment is a launchpad for a life of worship. Throughout the week, we keep exalting Christ in our homes, workplaces, and even in moments of rest. It’s in that “all of life” perspective that our worship truly gains depth. Singing a hymn with heartfelt devotion is wonderful, but so is serving a coworker with kindness, volunteering for a neighbor in need, or taking time in silence to reflect on God’s grace. Every act—no matter how small—can be an expression of worship when done to the Lord.
So how do we put this into practice? First, recognize that worship is not an afterthought in our disciple-making journey; it fuels everything from day one. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you areas where you might be compartmentalizing your faith—treating Jesus as relevant on Sundays but forgetting His lordship on Monday. Then, take steps to integrate worship into ordinary routines: praying before work, using mealtimes to thank God for provision, or pausing to encourage a friend in Christ’s name.
Call to Action:
Pick one area of your daily life—maybe your commute or your lunch break—and consciously offer it to God in worship this week. Turn that space into a time to praise, pray, or meditate on Scripture.
Final Encouragement:
Worship transforms us when we bring our whole selves under Christ’s rule. Together, as a Gospel-Centered, Disciple-Making Family, we learn that worship isn’t merely a Sunday checkbox; it’s the heart of our faith, empowering us to live each day fully for Him. Embrace it, and watch how He shapes your life and the lives of those around you.
