Week 1: Friday Discipleship

  • Psalm 14:1-3

    The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
        They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds;
        there is none who does good.

    The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man,
        to see if there are any who understand,
        who seek after God.

    They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt;
        there is none who does good,
        not even one.

  • Isaiah 5:20-23

    Woe to those who call evil good
        and good evil,
    who put darkness for light
        and light for darkness,
    who put bitter for sweet
        and sweet for bitter!
    Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
        and shrewd in their own sight!
    Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine,
        and valiant men in mixing strong drink,
    who acquit the guilty for a bribe,
        and deprive the innocent of his right!

  • Q-What are the consequences of suppressing God's truth?

    A-Suppressing God's truth leads to a downward spiral into idolatry, moral decay, and eventual societal breakdown. God’s judgment allows this rebellion, but it calls us to repentance and renewal in Him.

  • Proverbs 14:12

    There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
