Coming to God by faith on His terms in Christ, giving Him our first and best, loving our brother, and calling on His Name—trusting grace, not our works.
-
Two altars rise in Genesis 4—one built by faith, the other by pride. Abel offers the first and the fat, trusting God’s promise; Cain brings something, but not himself. When God regards Abel, Cain’s anger opens the door to sin’s crouching beast, and blood stains the field. Yet the Lord both confronts and preserves, appointing Seth so that a people would “call upon the name of the LORD.”
This week, let’s examine our worship and our ways—giving God our first and best, loving our brothers, and calling on Jesus in every sphere of life so that our whole lives sing His worth.
