Peace With God: Rest That Stays
Sabbath Saturday #10
Need a break that actually lasts? Not just a quick pause before diving back into the grind—but deep, unshakeable peace that stays with you through every season and circumstance. That's exactly what Jesus offers: lasting rest rooted in permanent peace with God.
Romans 5:1 declares this amazing truth:
“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Over the past several weeks, we've journeyed together from shadows to substance, from working to trusting. Remember Week 5? Jesus cried out, “It is finished!” to announce His work was complete. Weeks 6 through 9 affirmed this reality: rest isn’t earned or scheduled; it's given freely, daily, graciously, in Christ.
Today, let's make this deeply personal. The peace you have with God through Jesus isn't fragile—it doesn't depend on your effort, your emotions, or how "productive" you've been. It’s firm, steadfast, secured at the cross. You don't have to hustle to prove anything to God. Jesus already declared you righteous, accepted, and beloved.
So drop the weight of guilt you’re still carrying. Let go of the lingering thought that you haven't done enough. Rest today in the certainty of Christ’s finished work. His peace doesn't fade on Monday morning or vanish when stress hits. It remains, steady and sure.
At Redeemer, we believe Jesus' rest transforms us from people who chase peace to people who carry peace. As you rest in this truth today, your heart is perfectly positioned to worship boldly and freely tomorrow.
Trust Him. Breathe deep. Let grace silence your striving.
You have peace with God—and it’s here to stay.
