One Family United: Lifting Him Together

Worship Wednesday #4

Have you ever felt the power of singing or praying alongside a room full of believers? There’s something stirring about hearing voices blend into one, each person bringing their unique story but proclaiming the same truth. At Redeemer, that’s not just an emotional moment—it’s a key part of our identity as a “family of families.” When we talk about “unity as the Body of Christ,” we mean that God has called us to worship as one, reflecting the oneness Jesus envisioned for His people.

Think about John 13:35, where Jesus says, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Our worship gatherings become a living demonstration of that love. From the moment we arrive, elders are guiding us spiritually, staff is coordinating logistics, deacons are fostering a caring culture, and Covenant Partners are greeting, serving, and building each other up. It’s a beautiful synergy—each role vital, each person contributing to a shared act of praise.

Why is this unity so crucial? Because it reflects Jesus Himself. The world sees a church that’s not just a random assembly of individuals but a unified family, passionately exalting Christ. We might come from different backgrounds and hold varied perspectives, but when we gather on Sunday—or in smaller Gospel Communities throughout the week—we proclaim one gospel, one Savior, and one Spirit who knits us together. It’s a collective act that points beyond our differences to the greater reality of Christ’s love.

Key Line: “Together we lift Him—and our love shines in unity.

So how do we live this out? By embracing each other as family, whether you’ve been part of Redeemer for years or just a few weeks. If you see someone standing alone, invite them to worship alongside you. Take a moment to introduce yourself to a new face. Join a Gospel Community to share life beyond Sunday. In these simple actions, we don’t just talk about unity—we practice it.

Call to Action:
This week, take a step to strengthen our unity. Maybe it’s praying with a church member you’ve never prayed with before, or offering to serve on a team that supports Sunday worship. Those small gestures ripple outward, showcasing Christ’s grace to all who walk through our doors.

Final Encouragement:
At Redeemer, we’re more than a crowd—we’re a Gospel-Centered, Disciple-Making Family. By worshiping as one, we make Jesus known and share a glimpse of His boundless love with a watching world. Let’s keep lifting Him together, trusting that our unity testifies to His transforming power in us.
