A Redeemer Kids Update for Sept. 17th

Greetings Redeemer family,

Today, we turn our attention to Redeemer Kids, our cherished ministry dedicated to building up young disciples. While the update I have to share is important, let's approach it with a spirit of collective responsibility and faith.

Canceling the 6-9 Year Olds Class on September 17

This Sunday, September 17, due to a shortfall in available volunteers, we've come to the difficult but necessary decision to cancel the class for 6-9 year-olds.

As many of you are aware, our congregation has been steadily growing—praise God for that! As our influence has expanded, we've noticed a subtle decrease in volunteer participation for Redeemer Kids. Please understand that this observation is not a critique but rather a call to collective action for the Redeemer Church family.

While I know very well that there are individuals willing to serve every single week, our aim is to foster a more balanced, collective investment in our Redeemer Kids ministry. This shared commitment allows us to maintain a high level of responsibility and investment for our littlest disciples.

Let's regard this situation not as a setback but as a rallying point for our church community. For those of you already involved in Redeemer Kids, please review your scheduled volunteering dates. If a conflict arises, kindly reach out to someone in your Gospel community to arrange a switch.

Remember: Age Divisions and Participation

As we discuss these changes, let's not forget our existing classroom focus for Redeemer Kids:

  • Mini Disciples (0-3 year-olds)

  • Tiny Disciples (4-5 year-olds)

  • Junior Disciples (6-9 year-olds)

From age 10, children are welcomed into the main worship gathering with their families. We also have a cozy, carpeted area at the back for families who prefer to worship together.

How You Can Help

Here's our gentle ask:

  • Check Your Planning Center Schedules: If you can serve on September 17 or any other day, please confirm as soon as possible.

  • Secure a Replacement: If you can't serve, kindly ensure you find another covenant partner to take your place.

  • Take the Initiative: If you've been contemplating service but have yet to act, consider this an opportune moment.

The Deep Blessing of Service

In choosing to serve in Redeemer Kids, you're doing more than supervising activities. You're engaging in the profoundly enriching work of guiding young souls toward Christ. Every moment spent in service is a gospel seed planted in fertile ground. We understand it's a sacrifice, but it’s one that reaps future spiritual rewards.

Looking to the Future

Currently, the bulk of the scheduling falls on my shoulders. As we continue to seek divine guidance, we're optimistic that through our unified endeavors, we can soon return to a fully functional and spiritually enriching environment for every age group in Redeemer Kids.

Your role in our gospel-centered, disciple-making family is invaluable. We humbly ask for your prayers and thoughtful consideration on how you can help us navigate this season.

In Christ's service,
Pastor Cody McMurray
