Our Theological Vision:

At Redeemer Church, our theological vision is centered on God's gospel, God's mission, and God's church, guided by Isaiah 45:22 ESV:

"Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other."

We desire to be known for our focus on the Gospel and its everyday transformative implications, life on life disciple-making, and cultivating Redeemer Church as a family of families. We believe that Jesus's Good News should permeate every aspect of a believer's life or, as we like to say, "We desire ALL of Christ, for ALL of life." If the Lord answers our prayers, Redeemer will be a powerful witness to what a life transformational church can be where Christ's love and grace touch every part of people's lives.

Moreover, our aim is to bless the people the Lord brings into our lives through our ongoing rhythms of worship and relationships, ensuring that both those far from and those near God benefit from every encounter with Redeemer Church. As a Christ-centered people, our mission is to glorify God by proclaiming the Gospel and making mature disciples, all while building a loving household of God. By prioritizing these core ideas, we will nurture a vibrant, loving community where believers can grow in their faith and positively impact the lives of those around them, both near and far from God.

Centered on God’s Gospel

We are a Gospel-Centered church. Gospel Centrality means that our lives revolve around Jesus. We think of Jesus as the central hub of a wheel, from which all aspects of our lives act as spokes connected to and revolving around Him. He's not at the top of our priority list; He's the centerpiece around which all our priorities revolve. In all of life, we depend on Christ for guidance, wisdom, and transformation, embracing our identity as His people (Jer. 30:22). Jesus says we are salt and light in the world. Therefore, we are called to dispel the darkness and enhance everything we touch, preserving that which already honors Him as Lord. A life centered on the Gospel leads us to become increasingly and unapologetically like Him.

Our focus on the Gospel inspires us to obey the Word out of profound appreciation and gratitude for Christ saving us. In doing so, we avoid the two pitfalls of legalism and licentiousness. Legalism is where we might mistakenly believe that following the law alone makes us right before God. This would lead us to become smug, self-absorbed, and look down on others. Licentiousness, on the other hand, will lead to greediness, saying His ways are not good enough for us. Licentiousness could make the church feel entitled to live and act however we please because God's grace poured into our lives. Instead, we choose to embrace the Gospel by faith, joyfully desiring conformity to Jesus' ways. By allowing His transformative power to shape our lives, we become more like Him, ultimately reflecting His grace, truth, compassion, and love to the world around us.

Centered on God’s Mission

At Redeemer Church, we emphasize that disciple-making lies at the heart of God's mission. Disciple-making is an intentional process of cultivating trust in Jesus, starting with those far from God and culminating in individuals "identifying with" and "belonging to" a family of disciple-making disciples. Therefore, we strive to be an authentic Jesus-loving family dedicated to God's mission together. We hope to strike a healthy balance in all aspects of our relational life with Jesus, remembering that His mission is urgent, and yet His yoke is easy. We envision unearthing this balance in the mission of God by both being the church that is perpetually being poured into and rhythmically pouring out. We can't give away what we don't have, so we want to do everything we can to cultivate our faith. By trusting Jesus and His spirit, we believe in maintaining a healthy emphasis between evangelism (reaching out to those far from God) and discipleship (nurturing the spiritual growth of believers). We see evangelism and discipleship as different sides of the same coin. This vision allows us to experience life with Christ in our discipleship journey, cultivating our faith, and becoming mature believers.

Being centered on the mission means that our cup of faith is joyfully filled and given away. In other words, Redeemer Church makes time for faith cultivation and faith exportation. Structured worship at Redeemer, Sunday worship gatherings, and Gospel Communities should be a time when our faith is being cultivated. Sunday mornings at Redeemer Church are designed to cultivate faith through the Word, praise, thanksgiving, and communion, deepening our trust in Christ. Gospel Community provides a unique time in the Word, prayer, and pouring into one another in a mutually edifying way according to the gifts the Holy Spirit has given us. We envision our Grow Groups as opportunities for our core team of deacons to pour out their wisdom and knowledge, infusing the Word into the lives of others. This commitment ensures that we remain faithful in both "pouring in" the good news and faithfully "pouring out" the good news to others.

Centered on God’s Church

Focusing on God's Church is not selfish; on the contrary, it is the embodiment of selflessness. The Church is the pillar and buttress of the Good News of God's grace. The Church is God's vehicle for world evangelism, acting as the hands and feet of Jesus. The Church, the whole family of God, proclaims His peace to all, transcending language, culture, and nationality. The Church is the adoption agency for the children of God, always making space for more of God's family and preparing them for their permanent home. Emphasizing the Church's role ensures that we faithfully communicate the truth of God's transformational power, newly resurrected life, His compassion for the hurting, and His care for humanity, acknowledging Him as the source of everything good.

Family at Redeemer Church is about fostering strong, supportive, and loving relationships deeply rooted in a shared love and devotion to Jesus Christ. Families tell each other the truth, lovingly (Eph 4:15.) We consistently engage with one another through structured gatherings and organic interactions in Wichita Falls. By emphasizing following Jesus, exalting Jesus, and inspiring everyone to actively engage in His mission, Redeemer Church creates a welcoming environment where Gospel-Centered Disciple Making Disciples can genuinely thrive. We grow together in faith, supporting one another as we lead and form meaningful connections while caring for others within our sphere of influence.

Treating the Church as a family ensures that we neither become a clique, exclusive and closed off to newcomers, nor a country club focused on socializing and creating a performance-based organization. We are family, which means we strive to understand how God has made each of us unique and a part of His body, maximizing the use of our gifts for His glory. In this way, we cultivate a Christ-centered community where believers can grow in their faith and positively impact the lives of those around them, both near and far from God.
