Weekly Discipleship Guide

  • True freedom in Christ removes our guilt and binds us to the risen Lord, so that by His Spirit we gladly keep God’s commands, bearing fruit that honors Him.

  • This Sunday, we see Paul use a marriage analogy to teach that a widow is free from her husband’s legal obligations once he dies. Likewise, believers have died to the Law’s condemning power and are now united to Christ, our new “Husband.” This radical, covenantal transition frees us from condemnation so that we can joyfully serve God and bear fruit in the power of the Holy Spirit. We do not abandon God’s holy standards, but we now obey from the heart, knowing that in Christ, the Law’s penalty has been satisfied.
