Weekly Discipleship Guide

No. The law is holy and good; it exposes our sin and drives us to trust Christ, who alone can save us.

This week we explore Romans 7:7–12, where Paul confronts the tension between God’s good law and our rebellious hearts. Does the law create sin in us? Paul shouts, “By no means!”—instead, the law simply reveals the sin already lurking within. Like a mirror exposing dirt, the law shows us our need, pointing us to the only One who can cleanse us: Jesus Christ. Far from being sin itself, God’s law is holy and good, serving as a gracious X-ray that diagnoses our spiritual sickness and directs us to the grace of the Great Physician.
